The CITYNET Indonesia National Chapter was launched on June 12, 2007. The office of the Chapter was first hosted by APEKSI/AIM (Association of Indonesian Municipalities), an Executive Committee member of CITYNET, and moved to its Presidency City, Sukabumi Municipality. Office-bearers of the Chapter have also been selected, with Sukabumi as President, Bandung and Tomohon as Vice-Presidents, Palembang as the Treasurer, and APEKSI/AIM as the Executive Director. The Chapter aims to focus on networking and capacity-building of its members. The membership structure, based on the usual CITYNET model, includes municipalities, civil society organisations, research and educational institutions, and private companies.
All existing members of CITYNET in Indonesia, and municipalities part of APEKSI/AIM, are members of the National Chapter, and this base will be expanded in the future.
