Final Call for CityNet Office Bearers: 10 July 2017
 
 

CityNet has issued its final call for nominations / applications for its new office bearers. The final deadline is on July 10, 2017. The Election Committee Chairperson and Barisal City Mayor Ahsan Habib Kamal urges CityNet members to apply and get the benefits of an ExCom member, "being a CityNet Executive Committee member gives your city/ organization leverage in our policy-decision making process and access to important local government activities in the Asia Pacific region".

Last call for CityNet Medium Term Plan survey 
 
 

The CityNet Secretariat is developing the Medium Term Plan for 2018-2021 to review the network's past work and establish a vision for the future. This Plan will be carried out using the input of members through the survey. Please take few minutes to complete this survey to help us understand your needs and expectations and provide any further details that will assist us to meet your objectives. This survey questionnaire may take 15-20 minutes of your time and may also be dependent on the respondent's pace.

SMFDH workshop for Philippine cities
 
 

A training on the Life Saving and Fire Services was held from June 12th to 16th for CityNet members and partners in Phillippines. The training was organized by Seoul Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters and CityNet. The course provided a valuable opportunity for both Seoul and Filipino cities to exchange know-how and experience regarding firefighting and emergency management.

Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) has issued a Call for Research Proposals on Regional Transport on developing countries. KOTI's Regional Transport Research Project aims to encourage further research on the different aspects on the state of transport from developing countries which can include their current status, pertinent national policies and laws. For more details, please see attached file. Monitoring visit to Community Based Solid Waste Management project in Galle
 
 

CityNet Yokohama Project Office (CYPO) conducted the monitoring visit to Galle for five days to seek updates on the Community Based Solid Waste Management Project which started earlier this year. The monitoring team consisted of one representative each from CYPO and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES).
