Call for Project Proposal for 2019 Cluster Grant Program
CityNet Secretariat is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for the 2019 Cluster Grant Program. Two projects will be selected for a maximum of USD10,000 each. Project activities will have to be conducted in 2019.  For this round, we are introducing a new selection process. Submitted proposals will be presented at the 37th Executive Committee meeting where the two best proposals will be selected by the ExCom members.

Climate Leadership Programme phase II
 
 
Following the success of the first phase of Climate Leadership Programme held in 2017, CityNet Climate Change cluster leader Jakarta City organises the second phase taking place in 6-8 November this year to focus on building vision of future city management and leadership development, which will contain: collective action, multi-stakeholders dialogue, future city management, reflection into a prototype idea. More details will follow in the weeks to come.

CityNet at the Smart City Expo India
 
 
CityNet Deputy Secretary General Aisa Tobing joined the Smart City Expo India as panelist in the plenary session Cities for all: community development in smart cities. The session explored example of how cities can embrace development patterns that put people at the center. The current smart city efforts worldwide have resulted in numerous new urban policies. Those can be seen as an opportunity to retrieve the potential that public authorities have to strengthen community development making cities more inclusive and participatory. This Expo was held from 26-29 September 2018.

Asian City Leaders and Think-Tanks convened to promote Human City Concept in Suwon
 
 
The 2018 Suwon Forum on Asian Human City was held from 17 to 18 September 2018 in collaboration with CityNet in the City of Suwon, South Korea. The Forum was hosted by Suwon City government and CityNet. Asian municipal leaders, academics, think-tanks and international organizations got together in Suwon to discuss urban challenges, participatory planning approaches and solutions focused with human prosperity.

Training of Trainers on Evacuation Camp Management for Makati DRRMO
 
 
Five staff members of Makati DRRM office visited Japan from September 1 – 7 and took part in the Yokohama Comprehensive Disaster-Preparedness Drill and the Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters Operational Training held in the city hall. This is a part of the series of trainings to be held between Makati and Yokohama for the next couple of years.

DRR Club educational material produced by Nepali teachers selected for product
 
 
Plus Arts with the support of JICA has been conducting the Disaster Prevention Education and Material Development Project in Nepal for the past one year. The objective of the project is to support the teachers to develop DRR educational tools which are easy to understand and practical in Nepal’s context. The concept generates from Plus Arts activities which was originally developed in Kobe, Japan.
