The 37th Executive Committee Meeting will take place in Da Nang on 21-22 November 2018. At this annual meeting, CityNet’s Executive Committee Members discuss the organization’s activities and plans. The meeting will be held back-to-back with the International Seminar ‘Investing in Sustainable Urbanization’ which will focus on city finance and urban infrastructure investments. This event will provide a platform for city leaders, practitioners and finance experts to share best practices and discuss how smart infrastructure investments can foster sustainable urbanization.

Call for host city of CityNet Executive Committee Meeting 2019
 
 
CityNet Secretariat is encouraging its members to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to bid for the hosting of the 2018 and 2019 CityNet Executive Committee Meetings. Secretary-General Vijay Jagannathan said hosting Executive Committee Meeting is a privileged opportunity to highlight the city’s cultural and historical heritage and best practices to international colleagues.

Climate Leadership Programme phase II
 
 
Following the success of the first phase of Climate Leadership Programme held in 2017, CItyNet Climate Change cluster leader Jakarta City organises the second phase taking place in October this year to focus on building vision of future city management and leadership development, which will contain: collective action, multi-stakeholders dialogue, future city management, reflection into a prototype idea. 2018 Leaders in Urban Transport Planning (LUTP) 
 
 
The Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) is hosting the 2018 Leaders in Urban Transport Planning (LUTP) from 28th October to 3rd November 2018 in Seoul, associated with the World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB). The objective of the program is to build capacity for holistic and comprehensive planning at leadership levels. Seoul has been renowned for its urban sustainability with its successful transport reform in 2004 and selected as a place of venue for LUTP since 2012. Senior level decision makers in the field of transport planning for the central or provincial government are highly recommended to take this course.

CYO Welcomes two new interns
 
 
CYO welcomes Karizki Hadyanafi  and Waka Sato as new interns. Karizki Hadyanafi, is recent graduate from the Master of Environmental Management and Development program at the Australian National University. He is interested in disaster risk reduction issues and keen to learn about fostering partnerships for building resilience in Asia-Pacific cities. Waka Sato, is Law student from Kokugakuin University studying international relations and law, and is interested in international cooperation.
