CityNet urban infrastructure needs assessment survey

Following the Clusters Strategic Meeting in Kuala Lumpur in July 2018, the Secretariat is conducting a survey focusing on the urban infrastructure for CityNet members. Based on the SWOT analysis and PDM, one of the opportunities raised is many categories of infrastructure and diverse priority/needs by the member cities. Your response in this survey will be a crucial guide in the preparation and formulation of suitable programmes to CityNet members.

Climate Leadership Programme phase II

Following the success of the first phase of Climate Leadership Programme held in 2017, CItyNet and the Climate Change cluster leader Jakarta organise the second phase taking place from 6-8 November 2018 to focus on building vision of future city management and leadership development, which will contain: collective action, multi-stakeholders dialogue, future city management, reflection into a prototype idea. 4th International River Summit in Mandaue City

CityNet is encouraging its members to participate in the 4th International River Summit, a biennial, global initiative among rivers’ stakeholders, in Mandaue City, Philippines on November 22-24, 2018. This year’s theme - “Raising Awareness, Commitment and Resources for the Rivers” - enjoins river stakeholders in confronting the challenges of our world’s rivers today.

CityNet at the Korea-Tanzania Technology and Business Forum

On October 16th, 2018, Korea-Tanzania Technology and Business Forum was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea which is organized by SNU-Tanzania Innovative Technology & Energy Center (ITEC) in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania.

CityNet Expert Advisory Panel

On October 11th, 2018, CityNet Secretariat convened the ‘Expert Advisory Panel’ consisting of 5 experts. They will support CityNet to promote its network and activities, as well as increasing awareness of CityNet’s presence throughout the Korean Peninsula with their specialities, experiences, and network.

E-learning in Lalitpur public schools reveal positive results

As a part of project monitoring representatives from KDDI Foundation and CYO visited three target schools in Lalitpur Metropolitan City (Nepal) to understand how introduction of computers with e-learning material has made impact on the learning process.

Public school students of Yokohama visit CYO

CityNet Yokohama Project Office welcomed a total of 89 children and their teachers from 6 public elementary schools in Yokohama City from the end of September to the beginning of October. At CYO these students were introduced activities and games related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) as this is one of the main works for the office.

CityNet Youth Japan introduce field activity during Yokohama International Festa

In commemoration of the participation in the "Colombo Plan" on October 6, 1954, Japan has established "International Cooperation Day". In this context, "Yokohama International Festa" is held every year in Minato Mirai district in October. CITYNET Youth Japan (CYJ) introduced activities related to disaster prevention which they conducted during their field visit to Nepal earlier this year.
