Aksiku visits CityNet to discuss on Participatory Design for sustainable city
 
 
Founder and co-founder of Aksiku.Lab visited CityNet on the 30th of November to discuss about participatory design in the making of sustainable city. Both of them are the main coordinators of the two most recent CityNet Indonesia National Chapter projects in Bandung and Surabaya, focusing on the youth engagement in participatory development planning.

CityNet hosted a year-end event, End of Year Strategic Networking Session, on 10th December 2018. It was attended by 40 local government officials from Korean cities, heads of relevant local organizations / partners, and other CityNet local members.

Colombo Mayor awared Seoul Honorary Citizenship
 
 

Mayor of Colombo Bernadine Rose Senanayake has been awared the Seoul Honorary Citizenship by Mayor of Seoul Park Won-soon. The ceremony took place in Seoul City Hall on 12 December 2018. Mayor Senanayake was accompanied by CityNet Secretary General Vijay Jagannathan in the ceremony. Colombo Municipal Council is one of CityNet Executive Committee members.

 
Programs Director of CityNet Secretariat receives a Korean Dedication Award
 
 

On 20th of December, CityNet Programs Director Youngmin Chang received an award for her long dedication to realize sustainable cities. The award was given by Seokho Kang, chairperson of council of diplomacy and unification of Korean national assembly. This award was part of Korean Dedication Awards of Education, Culture and Gymnastics, organized by three senators of Korean National Assembly and other many experts from various fields.

Makati DRRM First Responders commences their first training in Yokohama
 
 
As a part of the establishment of Makati DRRM Academy, the Makati DRRM team commenced their first official training with the Yokohama Fire Bureau this month. The workshops focused on five learnings: safety management, discipline, firefighting activities and tactics, training at a fire station within a limited space, and planning fire suppression tactics in advance.
