CityNet is thrilled to announce the finalists for the 3rd CityNet ESCAP SDG City Awards, which honor innovative urban practices led by local governments to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Asia-Pacific. This year’s award ceremony will take place in Iloilo City, Philippines, where a distinguished panel of judges from leading international organizations, including CityNet Secretariat, UN-Habitat, UNDP, and Habitat for Humanity, will celebrate the achievements of the finalists.

Awards Theme
This year’s theme, “Living the SDGs: A Shared Future for All,” emphasizes collaborative and innovative solutions for sustainable urban development. The submitters were encouraged to focus their cases on one or more of the four thematic categories–Inclusive City, Smart City, Circular City, and Resilient City.
13 Finalists
The awards application for this year was open from May to September, and CityNet received over 70 case study submissions, the most out of any year so far. Each case study is evaluated against six judging criteria: Innovation, leadership, Clear Implementation, Positive Outcomes, Long-term Sustainability, and Replicability.
