It is an exciting year of activities, partnerships, and city to city cooperation as CityNet Secretariat presents its program activities to CityNet members in an online announcement on January 24, 2025. The activities reflect the overall Program Directions members of the Executive Committee (ExCom) had approved at the 44th ExCom Meeting in Iloilo City last November 2024.
‘Through our activities, we continue to share and contribute our Asian perspectives into the different global agenda, respond to the members’ needs, and invest in our future urban leaders,’ said Mr. Paulie Mora, CityNet Deputy Director.
Some activities include the 45th Session of CityNet Executive Committee Meeting and the announcement of winners of this year’s 4th SDG City Awards in Denpasar, Bali. CityNet and Kuala Lumpur Regional Training Center (KLRTC) will also celebrate its milestone partnership for its 45th CityNet-KLRTC Session, bringing city leaders for a three-day learning and mentoring program.
Clusters’ activities are gearing for international sessions on climate leadership, disaster resilience, and Sustainable Development Goals. CityNet Secretariat will also be supporting its member’s international programs like the ASEAN Mayor’s Forum (with Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Aug 4-7) Seoul Smart Life Week (with Seoul, Sept 30-Oct 2) and Asia Smart City Conference (with Yokohama City, November 25-26) to name a few.
During the session, CityNet members also promoted their international programs and commented on the program line-up.
“We strive our best to promote our programs and our activities as early as two to three months prior so our members can better prepare and bring in more participants,” said Ms. Youngmin Chang, CityNet Secretariat Programs Director in her message to members.
She also reminded the members that 2025 is the end-of-year term of the current office bearers. In 2026, CityNet will be holding the 10th Congress, celebrating its 39th founding year. ‘We intend 2025 as a consolidation for all the hard work that we have done as a Network’, she added.
