CityNet Signs MOU with KARDI (전국시도연구원협의회)—part 2.

CityNet CEO Jae-bok Chang and Korea Association of Regional Development Institute (KARDI) President Kyun Oh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday 27 March (read more).

Benefits to CityNet Members

The MOU signing took place during KARDI’s 2025 first General Assembly, which also marked the institution’s 30th anniversary. Approximately 100 individuals, including directors and researchers from the 18 member organisations, attended the event. Through the MOU, CityNet plans to leverage its Network to share KARDI’s research findings for Member cities to take inspirations.  CEO Chang expressed optimism that the MOU will serve as a catalyst for synergy between local government policies, in-depth research from research institutes, and international cooperation.

Who’s KARDI?

KARDI, founded in 1993, comprises 16 Metropolitan/Provincial Government-Funded Research Institutes, the Korea Research Institute for Local Administration (KRILA), and the Korea Institute of Local Finance (KILF). The organisation has been an associate member of CityNet since 2006 and focuses on joint research and cooperative projects related to regional development and local government administration.
