KLRTC benchmarks SHRDC to provide learning facilities on sustainable urban development

Following last year’s infrastructure cluster meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, representatives from the Kuala Lumpur Regional Training Center (KLRTC) visited the Seoul Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC) from 20-22 February 2019.

This visit is part of the infrastructure cluster action plans for the year 2019 that was agreed upon the infrastructure cluster meeting in July 2018. Seoul Metropolitan Government is the current infrastructure cluster leader with Kuala Lumpur City Hall as the co-leader. As a training arm of Seoul Metropolitan Government and Kuala Lumpur City Hall respectively, SHRDC and KLRTC provide training programs in sustainable urban development for city officials domestically as well as internationally.

The two training centers had a chance to share and discuss their operational and management practices and policies to further support and optimize their work in providing suitable facilities for various capacity building programs including those for CityNet members.

Consisting of six city officials, the KLRTC delegation was led by the Director of Human Resources Department Hasimah binti Ismail. During this visit to Seoul, they also had a chance to meet the CityNet Secretary General Vijay Jagannathan.

In collaboration with CityNet, the upcoming workshop to be held at SHRDC is the Transportation Strategy for Asian Cities focusing on BRT, while KLRTC offers a training program on Emission Reduction and Low Carbon Society. Refer to the following links for more information:
