CityNet Secretariat is happy to announce that the first round of self-guided online courses are now available on the Urban SDG Knowledge Platform learning page. As advertised at the 9th CityNet Congress in Kuala Lumpur, these online courses are completely FREE for all CityNet members. From the outset, the online courses have been developed to help expand the knowledge of technical level officers in city governments and other key stakeholders of sustainable urban development. The courses consist of bite-size video lectures, short quizzes, SDG focused activities, and interactive discussion boards. After completing the courses, learners will be awarded with a certificate signed by the CityNet Secretary General and the partnering organization that authored the course. Although the courses focus on different themes of sustainable development, the lessons can be applied to address urban issues all around the Asia Pacific region.
Two of the available courses have been adapted from webinars held by CityNet partner organizations in 2022. The rest have been developed as online courses from the ground up.
The list of available courses includes:
- Training on Smart Governance & Climate Change – Urban & Regional Development Institute (URDi)
- Japanese Creative Approaches to Society Resilience – CityNet Plus Arts Center for Creative Partnerships
- Smart Tourism – Seoul Tourism Organization
- Urban Safety Masterclass – Think City LAUNCHING SOON – Q1 2023
